The beer battle you've all been waiting for (probably not)

King of the Pumpkin patch 2025.

First contender
@GahanBeer
Pumpkin Ale. Subtle cinnamon, pumpkin up front, crushable, clove on the back end. Heavy on the clove for the finish. Not bad

#craftbeer
Listen, it wasn't planned. I am not gonna get DRAMATIC but I'm very HAPPY that I stopped at this brewery. I got a Drama Free IPA at Happy Brewery & was left quite impressed. A beautifully balanced #craftbeer with notes of hoppy pine, melon, citrus with a smooth mouth feel.
In Moncton for a function, so a flight seemed right at Tide and Boar brewing

The flight:
Sour Otis Raspberry Dole Whip
Herbies Oat Stout
Drown in the Juice IPA
Millions of Peaches Sour

The Otis stole the show, but all were quite solid. #craftbeer
If a plaid covered bird doesn't get ya, the flavours of Tahi, Orleans Brewing Co's New Zealand IPA certainly will. Notes of lime, tropical fruit, subtly tart, grapefruit and hops. This might be my fav IPA from these folks. Unique and well executed #craftbeer
Went by Vimy Brewing & tried this S'mores Cupcake Red Ale which is a seasonal draught only option. A fall appropriate brew. Malty, marshmallow, cut by cocoa undertones. Bitterness cuts the sweet, leaves a nice aftertaste that's is keeps you sipping. Worth a stop in #craftbeer
Sours...polarizing. Blood Brothers Brewings Paradise Lost Guava Pineapple Sour... Pucker-ising? This is a real good sour with a heavy hit or guava, followed by a sweet pineapple that ends with a face sucking pucker. Bold flavours that knocked my tastebuds into a sour patch. #CraftBeer
As the leaves change colors, the breweries focus on crafting comforting malty beers. Orleans Brewing Co. Oktoberfest Lager is a crushable, malty, mildly sweet and overall approachable brew. Solid and balanced. Well done #craftbeer 👍
It's spring, time to warm up with a nice amber & a long sleeve. Malt, bread, mild hops on the back end to cut that sweetness. A fine balance. That's what Slake Brewing delivers with this Long Sleeve Amber Ale. This is a very well executed amber that I'll have again. #craftbeer
Stray Dog is no stranger to a good pale ale. 8th Wonder is predictably well balanced. Citrus, tropical fruit and hops. Crushable and mildly sweet. A very bright brew in the dying days of summer. #CraftBeer
On a cool Friday night in Russell, a man surrounded by friends at a fire, cracks open a road straight into Ville de Jus. 46North Brewing strikes a unique balance of grassy, juicy and grapefruit in this NEIPA. Was the right mix on a nippy Canadian Sept night #craftbeer
Tried Madawaska Pilsner from Cold Bear in the Ottawa Valley last night. Enjoyable pils. Crushable, medium bodied, malt forward cut by a subtle hops with a crisp finish. This is a solid primer or getting buzzed brew that is approachable for the macro lovers. Well done #CraftBeer
My last beer in Edmonton was another banger from Irrational Brewing. The Constellations- Mole Stout was rich, smooth, with notes of vanilla and cinnamon. More on the dessert side but a solid brew. A bountiful haul from the West. As you can see, went down quick #craftbeer
My last stop in Edmonton was Irrational Brewing. Cool menu. Quite enjoyed the Guava and Red Prickly Pear Sour. Not overly sour, guava up front, pear really shows through, sweet finish but not too sweet. Well balanced worth a go! Rare sour W #craftbeer
Tough choices ... A beer or a Caesar...

How about both? In one glass.... Polyrhythm Brewing in Edmonton has a cool brew aptly named Hail Caesar! It is what you think it is. A Caesar flavoured beer. It tastes like a Caesar, that's the flavour. Strange but supper cool #craftbeer
Our 2nd visit is the City of Champions was Polyrhythm Brewing and their eclectic lineup of brews. I found a team beer I actually liked here with their Rhubarb Cream Tea Tart Ale. Nailed the rhubarb flavour, less the sour. Tea and cream smooth it out. Moderately sweet #craftbeer
Had a few pints in Edmonton last weekend. I'll start with my fav lambic from Blind Enthusiasm. Namely Spontaneous Manifesto 2023. Many layers of flavours here. Sour citrus, stone fruit, yeast, fermented fruit, subtle white wine notes, mildly dry & 6.9% abv. Funky #craftbeer
Post game, final game with my ball team & of the SSN. @CameronsBrewing comes out strong with New age IPA. Game theory hits with a great balance of hops, orange, juicy mouth feel and crushable at that. Very solid, dwindling summer #craftbeer
Eteule is a wheat Brett Saison from Gallicus out in Aylmer. This one is unlike any brew I've had before. A solid balance of earthy and funky fermented fruit flavours, mildly dry, well carbonated. Well executed funky #craftbeer that pleased the palate
An imperial Pilsner is not a common style, so when I went to Dieu Du Ciel and saw this 6e Soir, I wasn't leaving without one. Full bodied brew that is mildly earthy, boozy with sweet serial in the background. 8.9% abv but maintains a moderately crushable Pils vibe #craftbeer
Been a busy few weeks with some travel sprinkled in

Here are some of the breweries I've come across

Also hit Dieu du Ciel in Mtl

#CraftBeer
In the forest sipping on Bone Pine! A LCBO available collab between Sawdust City and Third Moon Brewing that is a great NEIPA. Citrus and pine dominate, subtle malt undertone. Crisp and hazy with a 6.5% abv. Don't rely on me though, grab one. You'll see #craftbeer
I'm on holidays this week enjoying @SeaChangeBeer from Alberta way out in Quebec. This Prairie Fairy Blackberry Wheat ale is crushable, with subtle blackberry tart flavours, some mild sour raspberry. Nice to get some Alberta beers out this way! LCBO Innes find #CraftBeer
Origins of Darkness by Collective Arts is always worth trying. This Maple, pistachio, vanilla & lactose version was a hit. A balance of nutty chocolate, bourbon and milky vanilla on the back end. I'd categorize this as an 11.9% abv, unique dessert beer 🍻#craftbeer
And now for a change of pace.... A light beer by Something in the Water Brewery. Their Painted Lake Peach Crisp is a crushable, peachy and refreshing little number with an abv of 3.8,%. It might be light but it doesn't lack in flavour. Summer slammer 🍻 #craftbeer
