This is genuinely the best thing I have ever seen ... my personal highlight was the racoon riding the bear ...

Even the animals aren’t safe….

English voters care little for Scotland, Wales and NI other than access to the resources indigenous to Scotland and holiday homes in Wales. NI was clearly not even a consideration in Brexit and the US/EU backed GFA is the only thing stopping UKGov from ignoring it completely. Face that hard fact.

Fair point but the central issue is the huge gaps between these changes and the massive pressure from ordinary people for change on an institution that serves only vested interests and a democracy that fails to represent the pluralism of UK. The master tools will never dismantle the masters house.

The Times tries to con people. I’ll leave it at that.

Didn’t god give Marshall the wealth and by deduction who are you to expect anyone but god to redistribute that wealth. Or at least that seems to be the argument of the right. I mean substitute, hard work, natural intelligence and good decision making for god and you’re there. Nothing to do with luck

How about you seriously soul search Duncan and ask which goal is most likely to achieve significant change in a system that has apparently been striving to achieve your stated aims and then more or less stopped at universal suffrage in 1928. Don’t you recognise the futility of leaving it up to 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿?

Did the same for Johnson. It’s just that then they were scared he would screw up not them.

Beautiful. Such a joy to listen to. Thank you Robert.

The boy’s looks like a fucking toilet seat sniffer and an arrogant prick who probably has the same fantasies as his parents; patricide and world domination.

As Phillip Larkin pithily put it “parents, they fuck you up”

The British Government is spending fuck all on the Clyde. The vessels are being commissioned by Norway.

Yet more whinging from the self-preservation elite. A mere 7% of the UK population go to private schools & refuse to 'integrate' with the remaining 93%.

Yet this minority comprise the vast majority of senior journalists & media, judiciary, senior legal profession & more. Very off-putting.

In times of turmoil and violence, one needs once in a while a place to retreat, fresh air, and the insolent beauty of a wide beach softly stroked by a quiet sea.

The image features a quaint red wooden cabin situated near a sandy beach. Behind the beach, mountains loom under a cloudy sky. Tall grass and bushes surround the cabin, adding to the rustic feel of the scene.

You’re not getting what I mean. Leaving the EU was never an issue demanded by people on the peripheries yet when it became an issue put forward by posh boy Cameron and moreover telling them what they should think they said “up yours” and went against him and Westminster. Different from Indy entirely
bellfieldboy1960.bsky.social
Not the equivalence you assert. The EU was good for Scotland hence the desire to rejoin at large here. The initiation of Brexit and the outcome of its happening are separate. Westminster doesn’t work for the peripheries. They responded in England by saying no to a Westminster direction of Remain.
bellfieldboy1960.bsky.social
Serving in government is different from counting for Scotland. So many of UKGov decisions seem England centred; Scunthorpe, Lindsey versus Grangemouth. Same issue different logic applied. Shanks doesn’t even have any relevant experience for his sinecure. An appointment solely to appease Scot Labour.
bellfieldboy1960.bsky.social
You seem unable to accept that Brexit wasn’t really anything to do with Europe but that it was an internal Tory Party issue fought on UK political territory. The outcome was more a symptom of disenchantment with Westminster and how it doesn’t work for most people in the country’s peripheries.
bellfieldboy1960.bsky.social
Then perhaps we can never agree here Duncan. You seem incapable of accepting that Scotland’s votes in the political set up as it is can never have an impact on your majoritarian view. You don’t see Scotland.
bellfieldboy1960.bsky.social
When the political other is Westminster with its London centricity, zero written constitution and anachronistic procedures more rooted in cap-doffing royal worship then we have a major issue.
bellfieldboy1960.bsky.social
That’s where you are wrong Duncan. The economics are critical but you can’t underestimate the cultural oppression and the reality of being dragged into situations like Brexit on the whims of another culture. Domination takes many forms and you can’t underplay the impact of the asymmetry in the Union
bellfieldboy1960.bsky.social
So you are happy with the status quo and those political efforts to unravel and correct Brexit? Perhaps that fear of change could be ameliorated by some fundamental assessment of Brexit at a political level. This is sadly lacking in Westminster. So what would you say to those seeking independence?
