Sure, but I would say that the "adultification" of a hobby is worth noting. Stripping away the whimsy and fun and reducing things to a commodity.

You're annoyed by a stereotype, totally valid. But the "grown adult playing videogames/with toys/cardgames" stereotype existed before this.

The optics of buying out entire stocks and making it impossible for children who are interested and don't have that kind of money is an issue, but the age isn't inherently the problem. But it would be silly to think it's not a contributing factor which is why people bring it up.

I think I'm unfortunately gunna call it in my attempts to play the Pokemon TCG in paper. Was excited to try and dive in with a new set release but it's already sold out everywhere in town. I feel even worse for kids.

I have no respect for Cardboard Investment chuds.
