writing this from my fairphone 5. I actually got the euro model before they were available in the states and I haven't had any connection problems. my only issues with it are the lack of an aux port and the battery life is significantly shorter than most phones. besides that it's been great

now that I think about it, it's very similar to how black and lgbtq culture became the basis for most of pop culture. the ostracized group create their own art and culture which become resistance to the mainstream, bigoted or just judgemental and prudish culture, and thus become cool

yeah historically they've pretty much operated as their own weird little fiefdoms as long as they keep pulling in the tourist $. pretty funny that the rickety old state fair coaster that gets packed to on a trailer then reassembled by a teenager might be safer than space mountain IMO
