Hi Bluesky!

I am continuing my many SciFi/Horror/Fantasy walkthroughs here.

In a walkthrough I review all canon & expanded universe media for a show in publication/release order.

In progress walkthrus shall continue here but I will add a link to the partial thread on X for continuity's sake.
#The4400 Ep 5.03 cont'd.
Why Jharrel is let anywhere near the journos is silly.

Ok the sets for the hotel in Detroit are very big but it's not believable that a hotel in a major urban area would be used for the 4400. Even on the stock footage used for outside the hotel isn't cordoned off.
#The4400 Ep 5.03 cont'd.
The ensemble cast if used well might work but there is still this heavy handed gibberish running through the show. Like every time we see that white cop he's behaving like a thug. It's now funny how badly judged those scenes are (ie that bottle into face subtlety again).
#The4400 TV ep #5.03 "That LaDonna Life" (08-Nov-21).
A better ep in that the preacher guy isn't in it so they get to use some of the good characters.
Again some of the dialog us pure 2020s so touches you with the subtlety of a broken bottle into your face (eg Keisha and Jessica's break up scene).
#TheOuterLimit Ep 2.07 cont'd.
Can see why fans only talk abut TOL's monsters and scares. It's the only thing that makes TOL unique and the only thing elevating each ep.

All characters are dull middle class Conservative Yanks spouting their middle of the road US-centric mostly racy gibberish.
#TheOuterLimits Ep 2.07 cont'd.
Adam West should've put a bullet in Buckley's head and dumped him. Like how is that clown an astronaut?
Also it seemed this would be an ep about computer V human decision making but no that was ditched quickly.
The civilians V army story was dull legacy S1 gibberish.
#TheOuterLimits TV ep #2.07 "The Invisible Enemy" (31-Oct-64).
Adam West stars in another S2 ep I liked a lot. To be fair astronauts exploring an alien planet in pre-colour TV is my thing. Mars looked great, the sfx and the monsters too. Ok S2 is less arty than S1 but it is delivering the story.
#TheStrangers Movie #3 "Chapter 1" (17-May-24).
A pointless re-tread of the Movie #1. Like why make exactly the same movie? Ok it's a reboot as the strangers all died in Movie #2 but this has no originality.
If Madelaine Petsch isn't in the follow up movie what's the point?
#ILoveAMystery Radio ep #919 "Bury Your Dead, Arizona [8]" (30-Nov-49).
The mystery is starting to ramp up a bit now in the drip feed way. Again Morse's writing is nought but smoke and mirrors in terms of suspense but this shorter format hides the lack of quality.

#ILoveAMystery Radio ep #918 "Bury Your Dead, Arizona [7]" (29-Nov-49).
I linked to the MORLS YouTube as they have seemingly added in opening & closing credits on these which gives a better listen than the surviving raw files which don't have the credits on them.

#Dragnet Daily Strip #193-#198 (02-Feb-53 to 07-Feb-53).
Solid enough so far but still bit annoying that Frank Smith doesn't match Ben Alexander from TV as yet.
#Dragnet Radio ep #189 "The Big Strip" (01-Feb-53).
Again a solid enough ep but it really feels like a pic'n'mix of earlier eps.

#RichardDiamond Radio 85 cont'd.
I liked Otis giving the back chat to Walt. It's ok Dick slagging him off but I prefer it that Walt wouldn't.

#RichardDiamond Radio ep #85 "The Red Rose" (02-Mar-51).
Familiar idea of a man who had put a private hit out on himself but now wants to cancel it.
The initial scene in the Dance Studio was LOL.
Very fast paced ep with a lot of scene changes.

I'm not a great fan of the ep3 cliffhanger as it's just a Davros rant which might've been memorable on TV. Hard to say.

I prefer the original ep2 (ie midpoint) cliffhanger rather than the initial planned one of Five surrounded.

But yes we were robbed by not having that ep 1 cliffhanger on TV.
#RichardDiamond Radio 84 cont'd.
Toots Shor is a famous Manhattan restauranteur with a restaurant in his own name. His actual name is Bernard Shor. Nobody has ever called me Toots sadly....

BTW this was a great ep and the best of this new run.
i can watch this on a nostalgia buzz and a Davo buzz. But yes ultimately it is too busy a plot and gets far too complicated with that unnecessary Time Lord plot. I don't mind the stack of deaths as it's Daleks.
#RichardDiamond Radio 84 cont'd.
"So who's on first?"
I know that is some 1940s/1950s shtick but I'm not sure what it means? Some baseball comedy?
Again the trims can be seen. Often the replacement text is smarter and more in character even if detail is being deleted.

#RichardDiamond Radio ep #84 "The Lady in Distress" (23-Feb-51).
A woman dies in Diamond's office as she was hiring him. Poisoned!
I think this was Diamond's office cleaner's first ep? I hope she's in it again but on OTR that doesn't happen as often as it should.

#Dragnet Daily Strip #187-#192 (26-Jan-53 to 31-Jan-53).
Start of strip story number five. We are back in Homicide Division (yaaay!). A woman arrives and reports a kidnapping but not yet a moida.
#Dragnet Radio ep #188 "The Big Lay-Out" (25-Jan-53).
A basic yet solid ep which we've more or less done twice before. Is it an earlier ep that's been tweaked hugely? I guess if the radio show is past its best then that's fine as it was amongst the best shows in history.

#Dragnet TV 2.11 cont'd.
The TV series is impressing me in how it's taking the great radio eps and translating them into tour-de-force acting. The wife played by Virginia Greig was great. But Virginia always is .

Special mention to photo-booth guy. We've all been there mate. Such inventive TV.
#Dragnet TV ep #2.11 "The Big Show" (22-Jan-53).
Adapts Radio ep #148 (10-Apr-52).
The great thing about this ep is the policewoman. In the existing TV eps it's the first real female cop seen. Even the radio show hasn't had female cops as good as this actress.
