It looks really good. Now for the sauce.
Embarrassing.

I like to refer to it as slowly strangling the goose that lays the golden eggs. I see you Cape Town and Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis.
who creates the lively art and music scenes if the rent is too high? who makes cultural life? who serves you food or washes your dishes? who creates the fancy little restaurants that draw you to urban living? affordable housing is at the heart of what makes city life worthwhile.
In which edition ? I have searched my last 3 editions and don't find this article
I loved reading this. Where I live in Greenpoint it's frenetic. On the radio the other day I caught a snippet of someone saying the "beautiful ordinary". .. when you get overwhelmed just stop and observe a shadow, steam from a kettle or similar. And that resonated so much.

DA and mayor with great hubris is killing the goose who lays the golden eggs. Seems like they loathe residents : just check out closing a major road for 4 days for speedway racing. Traffic chaos and cancelled and postponed events by various organisers due to concerns over traffic jams from this.

SA masks its actions by becoming a key part of sport & culture. Lets also never forget that journalist Jamal Khashoggi was assassinated at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in 2018 by agents of the Saudi government at the behest of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Wonderful to be at the opening of the Old Town House which had been closed due to an electrical blaze 10 years ago. Loved this self-portrait by Catharina van Hemessen, in which she represents herself, aged twenty in the act of painting (one of the earliest such portraits by a woman artist).
