New spending requires 60 votes in the Senate. Recision, only 50+1. Republicans can agree to Democrats' spending requests to get a bipartisan agreement on something, then...poof. It's gone. For example, see Lucy-Charlie-football.
I always thought "The Emperor's New Clothes" was a bit silly, a clear exaggeration. But here we are. Everyone around Trump has agreed to live inside his delusion.
Trump: "Portland, I mean -- every time I look at that place it's burning down. There are fires all over the place. When a store -- there are very few of them left -- but when a store owner rebuilds a store they build it out of plywood. They don't put up storefronts anymore. They just put wood up."

The reality is that Portland was safe enough for >8000 people to run past the ICE building (and through other parts of the city) as part of the Oct 5, 2025 Portland Marathon.
I'm not sure peaceful rulebreaking is EXACTLY what they want. I think they want something more like the 2020 protests, not something that resembles the Dharasana Salt Works.
I recall an interview with a couple who came to downtown Portland to protest against white nationalist groups. They were asked if they were Antifa. One responded, "We are anti-fascist, so I guess yes." It is basically a designation that targets everyone who doesn't support Trump.
I thought the US was paying a fee for these detentions. Wouldn't that mean the US still retained a measure of control? Wouldn't that also mean there is a contract?
He asked for unanimous consent to proceed to a vote for big dck toilet Whitaker, and they gave consent. Wouldn't that have been a good time to deny unanimous consent?
But then, by unanimous consent, they move to a confirmation vote for big dck toilet Whitaker. Wouldn't that have been a good time to gum up the works a bit?
1) If I recall correctly, you are more Inland Empire-ish (maybe a bit north) than coastal elite 2) The real coastal elite (at least Balboa/Newport) are flying Trump and USC flags...so trashy 3) This should be in private emails and with lawyers. Why do it in public?
