Purple symbolizes: priesthood, kingship, royalty, mediator, wealth, nobility, elegance, majesty, the Advent and Lament seasons, dignity, atonement, mourning, sadness, waiting for a change for the better, knowledge, sacrifice

Purple is obtained by mixing red (Jesus’ blood, Jesus’ life as a man, Jesus’ work on Earth) and blue (Heaven, word of God)
