Getting old is a terrible thing.

I'm glad to see that communism isn't a bad word any more though.

Is that one of the ships trumpet was complaining were ugly?
Only if they are dressed as Russian soldiers?
Tell me more about the Dead of Winter?
Is the access to food thing resolved? Do we need to do something?
I have so much more time since I built my bowling robot. It goes bowling so I can stay at work.
I'm lucky enough not to have a 3D printer... But the floss issue is why. I call it the George Elliott issue.
They do seem to print a lot of dental floss.
Interference from Dutch means that what little German I do have sounds like "a Hamburg Opa"
I only use my French to chat with tourists now. In France they're not very amenable to my French but they lighten up a bit in Edinburgh. Unlike the Dutch who just refuse to acknowledge I wasn't speaking in English the whole time!
I only had what German I scraped together as a physics summer student at the ETH in Zurich nearly thirty years ago.
Most of my language acquisition has been for work purposes, and even then they do tend to rot away again when I stop using them. Right now only my Spanish is in working order... Which is a problem because I keep getting sent to Germany.
Is there, by any chance, a shortage of gym teachers at the moment?
That hope for the future is a little thin at the moment. Our Overton window is almost wholly at odds with that of our southern neighbour, and they're lined up to elect a fascist bankrolled with foreign money.

This will be nothing new for you, of course.
How did you cope with Culloden Moor? There's always an intense atmosphere there.
The castle is invisible when you live here. I see it and its garrison (when I see it at all) as a symbol of oppression.

I much prefer Glasgow; the centre of Edinburgh is a theme park to sell shortbread and tartan scarves to tourists.

The suburbs are nicer though.
It's not really a tourist destination, Penicuick.

How did you like Edinburgh?
Even the town name of Penicuick has been severely mashed over time, from the Brythonic version, Pen Y Cog.

It just sticks out for me because I live nearby.
You'll end up with some bleak opinions on universal suffrage if you do that.
If I looked like Steve Bannon it wouldn't be my hair I'd be worried about.
I think, on balance, I prefer their version of reality to the one I have to endure.
