Its always been absurd to not see the people of the painting as humans when Renoir, the very guy threathening their lives, does.

I do subscribe to the design philosophy where there's nothing wrong with being a little mean with your game at times, but a lot of those intentional annoyances should be skippable upon replay by utilizing your acquired knowledge of the game.

Probably will be a good idea in the long run. An overworld map helps contextualize the stages and establish the progression of the game as a journey rather than a series of unrelated levels.

I do wonder how you can design a romance system that encourage players to be honest and not just treat it as a game to win to see relationships develop organically but i wouldn't know how to make that happen myself.

I appreciated how mass effect would lock certain relationships behind being renegate/paragon as well as give certain characters a specific sexuality, but that also resulted in players having way less options to chose from.

Yet the reverse of that is being able to lie your way into any relationship.

Money is one major factor but there also the element that games are a cultural product and can therefore be used to promote Saudi Arabia as a brand worldwide.

This is the kind of value that can't be calculated in money.

I feel like we need a word for situations where sapiens beings eat other sapien beings, as cannibalism technically only applies to eating a member of your own species.

I feel that outside a few exeptions, most sapien species would agree that eating people is a no no.

One of my plans would at least to have their forms partly obscured by the monochrome palette so they aren't quite recognizable as humans.

Early attempt at designing the base soldier. Nothing over the top, but i am still aiming to make them look fairly creepy.

Ill try to have my brother help me brainstorm ideas to get more interesting designs for them and the plants.

That and a whole lot of the sexual situations being based on rape of some kind (especially those that come with defeat)

I guess i can see the intent, but i felt the endings were too contrived to properly deliver their tragedy. Its either one selfish person screwing over everyone else for their own bennefit or....the same thing but with someone else.

Either way you get blindsided and betrayed.

probably because pixel art tends to use a lot of abstractions and implications to communicate, which wouldnt mesh with a program that rely on identifying stuff to copy.

The main concern i have is that players might be able to win by just making their monsters camp right outside the room, so im trying to make that impossible by giving several entry point to cover.

Main idea is that at the start of the game, the enemies only have access to the longer routes like 1 and 4, but gain access to more with each stage.

The top left one in particular is supposed to be enemy repelling down from a sunroof right next to your door.

Went through a lot of sketches but i think i managed to come up with a room/enemy route layout that should work well. Just gotta set up the cameras swapping and have enemy go through these routes to see if its balanced.
