I noticed parallels recently between two of the biggest topics of the year: AI (LLMs) and Donald Trump. Both of them spew seemingly endless quantities of apparently-sensible words, but have no regard for their truth, or even their meaning. Also, they are both worshiped by a few sad people as gods.

IOW maybe some wonk told him that the price drop this year is 1000% of the price drop last year. Or just 150%, and all the increases since then have been confabulations.

I actually assume there’s a sort of explanation for why he says this. Like, there can be 1000%s in terms of prices if you compare price deltas instead of prices. But Don the Con didn’t understand any of that, he just heard a big number and repeated it, and it’s getting bigger every day since then.

32 million dollars isn't even a slap on the wrist when you've taken in 408 million dollars in illicit income. It's more like letting the government get its beak wet. We're not going to get this country back on track until we fix antitrust.

The patriarchy teaches men that women are prizes to be earned by impressing other men, and also serve the goal of impressing other men. But in the real world, a healthy relationship looks like two people who walk side by side because they both prefer that to walking alone.
