Another #boardgame off the #shelfofshame
Tempus by #MartinWallace is a 2-5 player civ-lite game published in 2006. Graphics wise it shows its age.
It does give the 4x feel in a few hours. I'd play it again. Perhaps I won't wait 14 years. That's how long I have owned my copy.

Have a perfectly good Win10 computer that will not upgrade to Win11 due to not being super duper?
Check Windows Updates to see if ESU is an option. If so you can get another year of vital Win10 security fixes. How many folks have spent money on replacing perfectly puters when they did not need too?

So glad that the local #NoKings day protests were staggered that allowed us to attend more than one of the many events. Great engagement with the general public. The cacophony of car horns was exhilarating. It was good to see such a wide mix taking part including families with kids.

My games are manufactured in the United States. It is incredibly expensive to produce, there is almost no profit margin, we cannot distribute in stores, and I get frequent complaints about component quality for the pricepoint that allows us to eke out a living... in Detroit, a cheap place to live. 🧵

there's a US-based online retailer who has a habit of selling used & incomplete copies of our games as "new in shrink" - we have never & will never sell to them - leading to customers writing to us for redress & by all accounts they're supposed to be nice people but they're a real pain in my ass

We’ve had the vouchers for years, way back in lockdown. With mild weather and half-term it was time to go. The gardens are full of blooms with copious amounts of Wisteria. Glorious.

Secret H_____ was fun. The liberals lost. El Grande was the longest crunchy game. I managed a respectable 2nd place behind the other Alex.

The main game for the #socalwargamers gathering at Geeky Teas in Burbank was the classic CDG Napoleonic Wars. Nappy landed and conquered Britain in turn 1. I then sunk the Franco-Spanish fleet. Along with the turncoat Russia-Prussia, Nappy then conquered Austria. Not my best ever game of Nappy.

23rd times lucky I guess. After so many plays I finally win at the hybrid #eurogame / #wargame #boardgame Wings For The Baron. Design &market aircraft in WW1 Germany. The winner has the highest amount of gold and paper money. Inflation will erode the worth of paper money as the game progresses.
