Is "Hamas" in the room with us now?
bowreader.bsky.social
They are - he's 41, but maybe he still sees himself as a "kid". His conduct and speech would seem to confirm this.

Why is Hines yelling over and interrupting Hostin? Why does she behave so badly, as if she were jesse watters?
bowreader.bsky.social
At what point do these irresponsible "young boys" turn into men, Shady? These posters WERE NOT kids, and you can't change them into kids by saying so - we see what you're trying to do, AND IT WON'T WORK.
These vicious individuals are incompetent to hold any position of authority. Just like tRump.

We are not at war. Only Congress has the constitutional power to declare war. We do not have the death penalty for drug smuggling. Nor for gang affiliation. This is murder on the high seas of non combatants without due process.
At least our Nuremberg style trials should be short and sweet.

And NO on 1 (got my sign yesterday) and YES on 2 (still waiting for my sign). FYI, Platner concluded his Augusta appearance with "No on 1".
Where will we see you at the #NoKings rally on Saturday? I'll be on the Memorial Bridge in Augusta. Bring friends!

What do you think of Jordan Woods? I don't know how much he's raised. He has experience, though not elected, in US government, having worked for Katie Porter. Reviewing his platform, I'm not seeing his position on protecting and expanding voting rights other than overturning Citizens United.

I haven't, although I'm really not happy with some of his recent votes. I have emailed and phoned him about them, both before and after. If he retired now, what would Mills do, since she'd be able to appoint a more progressive Dem to his seat? Could she appoint herself?

I don't know why Gideon lost, but I'll be damned if I see Collins in that seat for another 6 years of doing nothing but forwarding the anti-American MAGA agenda.
bowreader.bsky.social
Does anyone know why he's running for Senate? I mean, ballsy and all, and has apparently raised $8M so far from small donations, but I don't want to throw away this chance to nail Collins once and for all.

I can't believe these businesses are accepting these ads. (Well, of course I can, because I'm an adult, in the US, in 2025, but it's deeply repulsive.)

Things that are really serious. Like the #TrumpsteinFiles, pray?

You are mistaken, sir, as to my thoughts. Stop trying to put words in my mouth.
This discussion is at an end.

I know this is a pipe dream, and frankly I'd prefer Graham Platner run for DINO Golden's seat than US Senate - he's got good ideas, some problematic associations in the past (Constellis), but I think the red hats in CD2 would vote for him.
I think Janet should retire and be Maine's elder statesman.
bowreader.bsky.social
And really, "have won previous elections" cannot be the primary reason to vote for this or any candidate. I deeply respect our Governor but I don't want her to be our junior Senator. I'd much rather see her take DINO Golden's seat and work with Chellie for real good for Maine and American democracy.

Explain to me why I should try to have a conversation with someone who believes insulting me, then goes on to demonstrate that his mind is closed to possibilities other than Governor Mills. No thanks.

failure to vote to impeach tRump, to her failure to use her power as chair of Appropriations to fight back against tRump's and the Junk Drawer's refusal to disburse monies already appropriated, etc. She had the ability to do something about it and failed Mainers by sitting on her goddam hands.
bowreader.bsky.social
IMO, we need to demonstrate that, yes, Collins brought money to Maine businesses in the past, but that good is vastly outweighed by her laissez-faire attitude to the reThugs' destruction of American democracy, from her vote to confirm truly awful tRump nominees from Kavanaugh to RFKjr, to her

Sure, deflect to the ad hominem. What a waste of time insulting - or trying to insult and failing - is.
bowreader.bsky.social
but they never then seem to get to the yes or the no, and so they appear to both fail to answer the question AND to deflect to some other topic (of course, that does happen, with republicants). Speaking for the sound bite destroys the listeners' understanding of the actual position of the answerer.
bowreader.bsky.social
Regrettably, far too many questioners interrupt, talk over, cut off, etc., whatever justification or explanation is offered, so far too many respondents seem to think they have to get that part in first. Given the way the internet question-and-answer culture is at the moment, it's understandable,
bowreader.bsky.social
Some questions genuinely ARE "yes or no" questions. That's not to say the the respondent isn't entitled to, and should be given the opportunity to, explain or justify the answer, but the first part of the answer needs to respond to the question asked, and the explanation, etc., comes after.
