it's possible the unit was running an older version, I think thats quite common outside of Japan
at least it's series accurate

It's a sad day today, as #eurobeat legend Mauro Farina passed away at just 68 years old.
Farina was one of the godfathers of eurobeat, even coining the name and active in italodisco and eurobeat since the early 80s.
My condoleances to his family, friends and the #SAIFAM team.
You will be missed. 😭
hoping more people share this sentiment so i can find a single tokyopop volume that isn't selling for 2/3 times its original retail price
This is only true of the Tokyopop dub, the later dub by Funimation gratefully reincluded the Eurobeat again
I mean its in 5, I would be shocked if it wasnt in the game
It appears in Initial D Arcade Stage 5

next time on Initial D: these lesbians
There's no "would" about it, they went nuts, they still do. There's well over a thousand doujin works for the series
it's because Tokyopop sold the airing rights to MTV, who never aired it. dub was targeted at that audience, though they wouldn't ever see it
Night of Fire appeared in several Disney themed skits on SMAPxSMAP, not sure if there is other precedent but theres a bunch of these

fair lol, it would be nice if someone would do them someday, as it doesn't look like crunchyroll can be bothered
Initial D has six seasons though? 11 if you count ova
the only racing game i can think of prior to Initial D to have eurobeat is Sega Touring Car Championship
It was Sho by Shuichi Shigeno, vastly overshadowed by his later manga Initial D but definitely still findable
heard a manga called it once because they couldn't find anything about it, but they were looking for info in English... it was never translated and wasn't popular of course they found nothing

either way its not very "lost", I have the full three volume run on my shelf, and it was released digitally
great opportunity to call it Initial D Stage Stage
The 3DS game Perfect Shift Online had some gacha elements, its long gone now though
After (how has it been this long) 5 years I have finally made wiki pages for all (how are there this many) 719 chapters of Initial D.

You can see the fruits of my labour here: initiald.fandom.com/wiki/Categor...

Now to find something else to do on the wiki. Preferably something shorter.

Here's a Fun Fact for you all...

Shuichi Shigeno's official debut in English/North America was technically via Gun Koma, the main character of his first hit manga Bari Bari Densetsu, being an unlockable rider in MotoGP for the PS2 in 2000, two years before TokyoPop released Volume 1 of Initial D!
its been a problem since his last series MF Ghost started in 2017, they cannot let go of the Initial D nostalgia, it has to be mentioned in all promotional material because they don't seem to trust it to stand by itself (which I don't think it would). I guess they're doing that for the new one too
the Initial D art shown is from Volume 4, which came out in 1996. His new art isn't great but given they're promoting his new series you think they would go with art from that and not something drawn 29 years ago that looks nothing like his current style.
