Hell yeah, I put on a fuckin’ dress.
Nighttime, the lit sign of the Hudson Theater, yellow bulbs framing the poster of Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter for Waiting for Godot.

Upon learning my bandmates and I are spending not one but two nights in Davenport, Iowa on tour this month.
A text I sent after learning we are spending more time in Davenport, IA. There is a Trip Advisor screenshot attached that has the Mississippi Spoon Gallery listed as the top attraction and quite honestly it probably slays. I have also written “Buckle up, babies!!!” And there’s a lil “haha” bubble attached by one of my bandmates (Jess).

What my plants will look like when I come home from tour.
A photo of a very angry plant monster in front of a Brooklyn stoop.

The first time I got to hear “I Heard You Looking” live—a favorite—was a year ago tomorrow. Pat Sansone joining the set was special. That festival is special, too.

I don’t use Spotify, but this playlist seems sick and thank you for including @activitysongs.bsky.social on it amongst some cool shit!

This was the first YLT song I ever heard, in junior high, despite it being a cover. I’ve never heard them do it live and I don’t necessarily expect to. I come back to it often.

No one in the bar for the first 2+ hours so I just watched Bram Stoker’s Dracula and it still fucks. 🖤🩸🗡️

Happy Bandcamp Friday and Halloween (it’s Halloween all month and maybe part of last week, too, just fyi)!

This one was fun for us a lot of reasons. First track that features our new drummer, Brian Alvarez, and even some tricked out, pedaled up cello from Lottie Malkmus. Also we love spooky times.

Photos in black and white from a family album, picturing my Nonno in a dress (very likely sewn for him by my Nonna). In one photograph, he is on his own holding a fan amongst furniture of the time, in the other he is amongst more friends, men in dresses and suits frozen in a dance. The note in my Nonna’s handwriting is addressed to her kids, and reads “Your Dad, ‘The Drag Queen.’”

Midsummer meadow palette.
A swallowtail butterfly perched on a small purple flower in a meadow. Some flowers are out of focus, the thicket of stems and buds a texture to the photo, highlighting the butterfly more sharply. Taken on my Minolta SRT102 with Kodak Gold 400 film. A softly focused photograph of a fair skinned, lightly tattooed arm holding a leaf speckled with holes; the leaf a skeletal version if its former self. The outline of a green meadow can be made out behind them. Taken on my Minolta SRT102 with Kodak Gold 400 film.
