I think the guy has immense tools and could be a huge contributor as a starter or reliever for this org.

I just wouldn’t trust him in leverage right now based off the long ball

It’s such a small sample to only include playoffs but if we are, the 4 hr/9 when that could be the difference in a game is pretty concerning.

Plus his run with the jays is closer to a 3.5 FIP. I can’t find his reg season xfip solely with Toronto.

He hit well in game one and I’d argue is hitting the ball harder than a lot of guys.
And worked counts better than most.

Maybe it’s the hockey guy I’ve been programmed to be.
Maybe it’s seeing Lukes battle, Giminez playing on one ankle, clement finish the regular season with a broken finger etc

Imo it’s one thing if you’re too injured to play at all but If you’re in good enough shape to ph you should be battling.

Ikf was 0-4, didn’t work counts and had little impact defensively.

He’s always been a slow starter and I look at his rehab/end of season as his spring

He’s starting to hit hard similarly to his late April/early May until the shoulder.

Line drives have traditionally turned into home runs shortly after. You need those more than an extra defensively specialist imo

I don’t think it’s fair to look at Santander’s splits playing with a separated shoulder.

More than anything, yesterday was another example that home runs are big in playoffs and I don’t know if you win a WS (without Bo) unless Tony is hitting nukes.

Having Giminez hit over Lukes here is certainly a choice. It might work out but I trust Lukes to get a ball in play and to the outfield more than Giminez

I’m aware that they need an infielder. You yank Straw after the inning for Giminez…or Santander if you break it open
