likely a business or school was using these laptops and had to cycle them out now that microsoft won't be providing support/security updates for win 10 anymore. they don't meet the hardware reqs to upgrade to win 11 so now they're ewaste and these schools have to spend more money on new laptops : /

it's a fairly new os in the world of linux (first commits back in 2021 from what i can see), but it ran way better than mint and plasma on my 13" notebook 7 spin. pop os was also the only os that i could get my keyboard backlight working on thanks to the installer finding the drivers for me!

i've been tinkering a bunch with old laptops lately. i revived my old 2017 samsung notebook by installing linux with pop os, and it's been a lot of fun seeing it breathe new life into a device that just sat around my room before. windows made it super sluggish, but now it boots and runs awesome!

Blender is pretty usable on Android Tablets now thanks to this repo, so I tested it out for a Grease Pencil project in this video!

yess, I feel like as graphics in games got higher fidelity, the craftsmanship and dedication to design in these guides and promotional materials started to fall a bit to the wayside because they would usually just reuse assets from the actual games. I love these old ones w clay models!!
