In our most recent episode of Pixelated Playgrounds, Josh and I reflected on Monument Valley and how it stood apart from its peers on iOS through its artfulness, elegance, and serenity. Short game summer is coming to a close, so we'll be diving into some longer form titles in the coming months!

Yeah, I should just commit to this approach. I do want to see more and the game has excellent ‘long term play’ features with its character chapter summaries.

I guess that would make several of us in this thread. Didn’t take away from what I did play. The design and music, especially Paritio’s theme, was worth the price of admission.

Took the same approach and scraped by until I couldn’t. I kept wondering if there was a bunch of side content I was somehow neglecting? It didn’t feel like the game was expecting me to grind… so I didn’t 😅

I’ll echo the sentiments above. I think the path actions were better integrated into quests and exploration as well. I put a few dozen hours into this game then hit a head scratching difficulty wall. May revisit someday.

There was probably no greater end of the year gaming surprise in 2024 than the release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, a sprawling and pitch perfect first person 3d adventure game with stealth, puzzling, and a not-insignificant amount of using improvised weaponry against fascists. Enjoy!

The most recent episode of Pixelated Playgrounds @jgalecki.bsky.social and I covered Tactical Breach Wizards! I've been impressed with everything I've played from @pentadact.com, but TBW really had Suspicious Developments firing on all cylinders: Tactics, Writing, World-building all sublime!
