I agree— also in Hannah Arendt’s observation (in a broader sense) genAI seeks to obliterate distinctions between fact and fiction, a “substitution of lies for factual truth” … “the sense by which we take our bearings in the real world,” these will be destroyed. We already see it deployed as a shield

One of the reasons I’m convinced generative AI is a bubble is that the aesthetics of AI art are deeply right-wing coded, and therefore profoundly uncool.

I like seeing the massive crowd videos and photos on here but you know what, I like seeing the small-town snapshots of a dozen folk on the side of a road too, we’re all together, even at a distance
