I made a Vulpera for Legion Remix and plan to keep it. I've race changed all my others before because it's so hard to find fucking NORMAL Vulpera RPers and, due to the high incidence of creepy/weird ones so many people have actual, serious, "Vulpera DNI" bits in their profiles :( #vulpera

Last night I was doing some infodumping on bettas, specifically well bred bettas vs. what amounts to 'backyard bred' bettas (anything you see in a pet shop).

Every time I brought up the spoonhead deformity my brain reminded me that "spoonhead" is a slur for Cardassians. 🫠 #startrek

Also, I hate the fact that AI has become what it currently is because I've been beyond fascinated with machine learning since first using an Apple ][ and I'm STILL fascinated with it and love messing with it but, much like the internet itself, once the Average Dumbass got access to it it got ruined.

So, AI has 'voices' depending on which model it is.

I took two short paragraphs from a story I had to write for a class in 1998 and told each model to 'make it flow better'.

Grok, Deepseek, and ChatGPT really love em dashes. Gemini sounds pretentious af.

All 6 'sound' distinctly different though.

Each bot was given the prompt: “Make this flow better. Keep the length similar to the prompt.” (Because Gemini, Llama, and Grok wrote a whole short story from it and that legit annoyed me because none...

The current stylist I have who did the white hair that faded out to black tips was just like, "I mean I appreciate you coming to me but if you start doing it yourself I'm not going to be mad, I get it, it's expensive." She even offered to give me the formula for the white in case I had to stop

at because it looked amazing, I told her I did it at home and her WHOLE demeanor changed; suddenly it didn't 'look that great' and it 'wasn't even' and then she had the nerve to wrap that up with, "Well if you ever want it done properly, I do color services too."

Didn't tip, never went back.

Ew, shitty stylist. When I first moved to this neighborhood the first place I went was within walking distance and, at the time, I had split color (purple on one side, teal on the other) that I'd done at home and I was in for a trim. Lady was praising the hair color, asked what salon I had it done

Yeah that's why I stopped doing red and black, looks like I have an extremely thin hairline when the dang roots come back in. :|

On the other hand, when I bleach and tone it out white my hair looks somehow thicker when darker roots come in.

Someone put the original cassette tape audiobooks up on youtube and the fun difference I've noticed between those and the recent re-releases is the original narrator pronounces Xar with a subtle 'ex' at the start and the new narrator says it like Czar.

Oh I have a weird one for you: My friend's dad had carrot orange hair when he was younger, it turned silver-white in his 50s, and now at 78 it's jet black. HIS dad's hair did the same thing, I remember his dad having solid white hair that turned black as he got closer to 80.

Yeah the nice term is usually dark ash blond; my grandma always called hers 'dishwater blond' which is horrifyingly apt, it is sort of the same color as dirty dishwater. Mine turned out less ashy though and a little more warm toned and reminds me of a deer mouse. Mouse brown, literally!

My hair was white until I was about 6, then it slowly started turning mouse brown. It's mouse brown right now because I like to look as 'normal' as possible when job hunting but it bleaches out to an easy level 10 and tones nice and white so I'll likely do that again once I'm not on contract work.

Honestly, the first two books are a slog to get through but it's largely because that's where all the boring aspects of the world building happen. The story picks up with a lot less of that in Fire Sea, and the last four books reference a lot of 'minor' details from the first two.
