I got bullied out of a fandom I was in for being "Zionist." I'm not Jewish and generally don't feel like I'm super entitled to an opinion other than to say I don't wish for anyone to be hurt or killed. I feel like it's become a generalized leftist slur for anyone who doesn't lock step with them 100%

(you already know this) but If you wanna go off something, try to titrate versus rawdogging it. There are withdrawal symptoms that run from mild to severe and can easily be mistaken for depression, etc returning.

10 years ago I was friends with a very vocal intersectional feminist with a big online presence (FB). She told me the only topics she wouldn't allow to be discussed on her timeline were Israel and AA. That they are way too polarizing and always resulted in mudslinging and chaos. She was right.

Torba is a great example of someone who was a pariah a few years ago, getting mainstreamed. And if anything his views have become even more vile.

Bsky hasn't been as promising as I had hoped. A little too leftist for me, and the bullying is out of control. But no platform is going to be perfect
