yeah he was so rough even from the get go 😭 all he really had going for him that other frames didn’t was Phoenix Renewal and even then that was only useful in the rare permadeath gamemodes and its AOE was so cryptic

anyway I’m very excited for Smite to go from an ability I would subsume over in a heartbeat to a “fuck this guy in particular” button that explodes overguard. that’s the wrath of god an ability called Smite should cause

also Hallowed Ground not having guaranteed radiation status until now is just as crazy because like what’s the point of having a status application ability if it doesn’t even apply status consistently??

like it’s crazy that it took until 2025 for Renewal’s AOE to follow Oberon instead of just persisting where it was cast with no clear indicator where it ends. he’s had it so rough for so long

I got really into Oberon back when Arbitrations were first added and the revive tokens weren’t a thing yet. Phoenix Renewal was one of the handful of ways to bypass the permadeath. but even back then the rest of his kit felt so underwhelming to me. like he was only good in that specific situation

okay like we watched the movie again last night and I really went dead silent for the rest of the movie after the idol awards scene because it hits me specifically so hard the way Rumi is outed on stage and immediately betrayed by literally everyone in her life. that’s fucking terrifying
