I was actually interested in that one. In 2013, there was a Qanon circle conspiracy about Police knowing ahead of time about the Boston marathon bombing.

The evidence was these fed looking dudes wearing punisher merchandise, and something about how military use certain things to identify secretly.

I live in California and grew up during the Rodney King riots, so I find this assertion you have kind of funny. Grew up in a city where the homeless next to the Motel 6 were undercover cops. I dont know where you grew up, but real cities never operated like your imagination.

Federal agents are only expected to identify themselves to the person they intend on arresting during formal enforcement, and during search warrants. Both, only expected with the individual effected.

There is no expectation to just stop doing your job and answer random peoples questions.

Just because police dont notify squeaky on Bluesky what they are doing, and request permission from you, doesnt mean they are secret police.

Their jurisdiction, policies, facilities, and law enforcement, all incredibly public. Everyone knows who ICE is lol.
