I'm a disabled former secondary teacher of English, Spanish, and ESL. Now, I'm a homesteader who gardens, raises ducks and geese, and still knits and spins yarn. #ChronicPain #DemocraticSocialist she/her

I'm rather proud of my disabled self today. I managed a shower, a trip to the grocery store for a few things (the prices are insane!), and I made dinner (though my husband helped a bit). Just waiting for it now...

I hurt so bad, but it was worth it all just to feel a bit normal for once. #Disabled

Today is Indigenous Peoples Day – a time to honor the 11 sovereign Tribal Nations and robust urban Native communities that continue to enrich our state’s cultural landscape, economy, and heritage.

It was a beautiful morning to celebrate on the shore of Bde Maka Ska.

Great. His ego didn't need that, and now he will give Israel whatever they want. 🤦🏻‍♀️
That last one ... Yeah. *Sigh*
Oof. Yeah, that gave me chills.

Morrison.

For a contemporary of those two, Bulgakov since Master and Margarita is just amazing.
I have to get the garlic in this week, if at all possible. That means finishing prepping 2 beds and then tackling all the rest and getting them ready for winter and next spring.

I moved all the herbs to a new bed yesterday. I hope they like it. 😬 If it works, I have room for annuals next spring. 🌱
Long weekend, and I didn't get half my to do list done. Today has been an awful pain day, and I only got the new sourdough starter fed and a loaf baked. I mixed up the sourdough pancake batter, but my husband made dinner.

I overdid it in the garden yesterday and still have so much to do there. 🌱

Few patients appeal a health insurance denial, but a little-known process that requires insurers and plans to seek an independent opinion can force insurers to pay for what can be lifesaving treatment.

Here’s what experts say you need to know.

Even if there were, they're all incompatible with good order & discipline. An Army of Hegseth's isn't a hyper-lethal Army, it's an Army of ignoramuses, drunks, discipline cases, & walking zipper malfunctions. Which is exactly the Hegseth make, model, & type. 8/
I haven't felt like coming up with my own design in ages until I saw this Cautiva yarn from Spain in the yarn shop by my daughter's home. Hopefully, these mitts will turn out okay. #knitting

Thankfully, I have a copy of Ann Budd's Handy Book of Patterns. It's the best! Worth every penny.

I can’t believe I’m watching interviews of city mayors talking about how they are coordinating with other mayors to discuss how to protect their residents FROM THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

I know we are “used to it” but it is absolutely insane

bruh John Yoo drafted the memos to give the Bush administration legal cover for torturing people

John Yoo said the Geneva Convention doesn't apply to "terrorists" and even he is like 'yikes Trump is crossing a line'
“.. There has to be a line between crime and war,” said John Yoo, a former deputy assistant attorney general under President George W. Bush.

Can't sleep from pain, but we've so very badly needed this rain.

The flock is up and upset this morning. Well, Squeaker is upset. The rest have calmed down a bit after all getting through the fence and heading out to forage, leaving Squeaker behind.

Poor Squeaker. I can't get to her yet.
