Isn’t it an agreement with Network Rail with companies using heritage traction to have a standby loco due to their uncertain reliability?
Sure I read it somewhere.

Didn’t one of the 37’s on the Cumbrian circuit fail in the first week, apparently Network Rail weren’t too happy.

When I went to Tamworth last week I was walking to the station from the car park up near the police station, about 400 yrds away & a class 70 passed through on the Southampton-Leeds liner at speed

Looking at the cost of some 2026 tours I think so.

We’re certainly going to think twice about booking a day tour now when the cost is almost the same as a weeks holiday in Cornwall.
