Yet, I for one have found the content repetitive and banal.

OpenAI’s spend commitments have crossed a $1T with no sign of stopping. It’s committed to spending up to &25B on a data center in Argentina.

Investing in AI after ChatGPT because you thought we’d soon invent AGI is like investing in Bitcoin after Satoshi’s paper because you thought it’d be the currency of the future.

Whether or not your prediction will ever be true remains to be seen but you still got rich just from the FOMO factor.

2. If we achieve AGI, what happens to humanity when an app can do most of the work of the average white collar worker with a negligible error rate?

LLMs aren't actually intelligent but are more akin to synthesizing Google search results for your question then guessing where there are gaps in data. This doesn't seem like a path to intelligence.

That said, you don't need AGI to generate massive financial upside or productivity gains.

Ben Thompson has now realized his criticism of OpenAI’s API business being a distraction that steals GPU capacity was wrongheaded.

This is a good example of how while Ben’s industry analysis is solid, his product instincts are less so. I tend to take all his strategic takes with a pinch of salt.

As a former PM for Facebook Login, I find fascinating the vision that every app will have AI and they want that AI to be your personalized ChatGPT.

If we’re lucky America may recover from the damage of the Trump administration in a few decades. But more likely, we’ll simply never recover.

Reagan caused damage that’s so permanent that people can’t imagine it being otherwise, let alone recovering from them. Such as top tax rates from 70% -> 28%.
