I'm glad to see you feel that way, then. I was fine with Force Awakens - that's the one which can most justify following the previous beats. I genuinely would like to see a 9 redo done by Johnson, or at least a new one decanonizing the one we got.
They couldn't dedicate to a theme because regressives threw them under the bus after TLJ and you all supported them, so we got "Somehow, the Emperor returned".
I am *extremely* bitter over the hatred which TLJ got. You all fell for typical regressive opinion manipulation.
Those of us who liked it were telling you that at the time, and in fact gesturing furiously that the real-life Kylo Rens were the ones manipulating the anti-TLJ conversation. But no, you all focused on hating women and a little space whimsy.
I do. Being elite is not bad - it means that you're the best of the best, and Bernie has proven he belongs in that category from a political standpoint. We should want leaders who are better than we are. The alternative, populism, is the wave that the American right currently rides.
I would argue that a pass that couldn't be handled is not, in fact, a nice pass. Yes, a whole lot of little errors combined with Vegas hustle added up here, but let's not compliment Toffoli here.
Can we be a little more narrow than "Western elites"? That's the kind of terminology Putin would use. Throwing Tim Scott into the same category as Bernie isn't helpful.
I am concerned about non-techies shooting themselves in the foot if they don't have guardrails, but I'm not necessarily anchoring to corp stores as the solution. But my major point was that a high percentage of non-techies think they're technical.
Tellingly, no one who thinks that Epstein was murdered ever accounts for her remaining alive and well.
Also, the idea of 'country club' prisons is highly overstated. It's quite possible that Maxwell has been sexually assaulted by one or more guards already. We're talking prison guards in Texas.
We have a lot more evidence of murder in the case of Litvinenko, Prigozhin, and Navalny than for Epstein. I'm not saying it's 100% certain he did kill himself, but it is far more reasonable that he did, as the evidence around any potential murder is circumstantial at best.
Right now, no, but how we got there is that they inspired mistrust in the system previously. And you can't invoke the idea of a 2-tiered system *when we're talking about a dead rock guy*.
It's a little weird to select a voice against one of the comparatively few left-wing authoritarians with so many right-wing authoritarians around. Several supporters of US authoritarianism wrote in support of her because the US right hates Venezuela. Strong "Contras are the good guys" energy here.
You know who doesn't want you to believe in the justice system? Putin! He wants everyone angry because his ultimate thesis is that people are irrational fools incapable of setting up and trusting representative systems. It has created a justice system we can't trust, but that wasn't always the case.
You *vastly* overestimate his power. This isn't Hollywood. Remember the Pandora Papers doing nothing? Scandals don't take people down anymore.
Also, remember that the belief of Epstein not killing himself *came from the right*. Why do you view them more credibly about this than about Comet Pizza?
