The rule was always to be home by the time the street lights came on.
We did have to let them know where we were going, and if we ended up going somewhere else, we were supposed to call to let them know.
But it was much safer back then.

Edward Herman was one of my favorite actors and narrators. He had a great guest role in a MASH episode and was in one of my favorite films, The Man With One Red Shoe (which the critics didn’t like, unfortunately).
