My first season as a beat writer was the realization of a childhood dream as I covered my hometown team on-site. To me, there’s not a more meaningful story to tell in sports than the Portland Trail Blazers. What an honor to get the chance.

Billups says Matisse Thybulle is still ramping up toward his return to play. Thybulle missed the first game with right knee soreness.

He doesn’t know what the timetable for return is yet.

He had a procedure to clean up right knee inflammation last October that was expected to keep him out 3-4 weeks. Then when he was close to returning, he suffered a right ankle sprain in late November. That’s what kept him out until until March.

The Blazers have announced Matisse Thybulle will miss tonight’s preseason game vs. the Warriors due to right knee soreness.

Chauncey Billups also said the Blazers won’t be resting players for full games during preseason. He instead will be finding rest for them during games in terms of their minutes.

He knows for sure he won’t play Jrue Holiday in the second half against the Warriors tomorrow.
