Most of next week looks to be lacking in sunshine (maybe some inversions) and dry as the high pressure traps in a lot of cloud.

Early mist and fog clearing, and for a time lifting into low-cloud. Then a decent day with hazy sunny spells and light winds. Feeling pleasant in the sunshine. Dry.

Cloud arriving overnight so not as cool as the previous night.

A sunny start once any mist or fog clears. Again a dry day with variable amounts of cloud so predicting where the sunny spells are is tricky. Pleasant in any sunshine with light winds. Winds switch E'ly late-PM dragging in cloud overnight and keeping the temperatures up.

Dry with some sunny spells but these most likely in the NE to SE parts of the region. Western areas could well see some stubborn cloud, which might not shift until later in the day. Light winds. Clear spells overnight leading to some areas of mist & fog.

Early cloud and the associated patchy rain and drizzle will sink away to the SE. Dry with variable amounts of cloud and a few bright spells for the rest of the day. Best of any brightness in the east. Breeze picking up.

Cloud will continue to thicken from the NW. This will be thick enough at times. Some patchy rain or drizzle especially on high ground. Winds falling light.

Mostly cloudy this morning and a dull day ahead, which could see some drizzle.

Plenty of dry weather for the foreseeable too, with some lovely sunshine (not all of the time). Cooler later in the period.

OUTLOOK 👀

High pressure in charge but some stubborn cloud at times, thick enough for some patchy drizzle, otherwise plenty of dry weather.

Chance of a few inversions over the coming days and with a change in wind direction towards next week we should see more in the way of sunshine for a time.

Record warm ocean temperatures continued in September across the North Pacific Ocean, with a number of consequential impacts (including on downstream weather patterns).

This graph shows the average for a band across the midlatitudes for every September from 1854-2025 using @noaa.gov ERSSTv5 data.

Green line graph time series of average sea surface temperature anomalies for each September from 1850 through 2025 for only the midlatitude region of the North Pacific Ocean. There is large interannual variability, but an overall long-term increasing trend. Anomalies are computed relative to a 1981-2010 baseline. 2025 is a record high.
