I remember how, a few years ago, I was lamenting how October skies aren’t what they used to be. They used to be so deeply blue.

He promised to save the statues on the Bonwit Teller building and donate them to the Met Museum in 1979 when he was taking it down to build Trump Tower.

He deliberately smashed those statues into dust and said, basically, fuck your statues; this is mine.

Typical Trump move. He was given permission to build trump tower on the site of the old Bonwit Teller Department store by promising he’d remove sculptures from Bonwit Teller’s wall intact and give them to a museum. He promised, then smashed the sculptures to pieces saying “Yeah, fuck that.”

While social scientists may look back and point to reasons why a mass hysteria event took place, nobody can predict ahead of time when it might happen.

You don’t know who will become an icon, what conspiracy theory will be taken seriously, or most importantly who will kill for their idol.

It’s some kind of mass delusion. Women weren’t flying through the air on broomsticks in 17th century but many were executed for being witches. People testified they saw all manner of weird goings-on just to get those women murdered

Why would a democratic governor undermine his own party? Reelection. Cuomo wanted NY GOP politicians to endorse him or at least not attack him when he ran for reelection. It worked, btw. Many Republicans endorsed Cuomo

For Cuomo, it’s always about Cuomo. He and his brother are spoiled nepo babies

While governor of NY, the state legislature flipped from red to blue and Cuomo founded the independent Democratic Conference, a group of Democratic senators he instructed to vote with the GOP in order to keep downstate democrats from implementing a liberal agenda.
