Evolution is compatible with the story of creation. Genesis is an extremely simplified explanation of the origin & evolution of life for ancient peoples (a la science for arts majors). Sexual abuse by members of the clergy is both criminal and offensive to God. If you’re expecting me to be uncomfortable with a reminder that such offenses have occurred, I am not as I am not guilty of them and am not guilty be even loose association (I’m not even Catholic).

That we cannot perceive a thing unaided, using our natural senses, does not negate its existence. Physical laws are sussed out by their operation. Not being able to perceive directly does not refute that those laws are at play. That order and complexity arises out of the void is magical thinking.
Had you studied physics, you would know that order does not spontaneously arise and increasing order requires energy; increasing order is not a natural phenomenon. Had you studied chemistry, biology, microbiology, and immunology (my areas), you would not attribute the complexity of life to accident
The libertarians I’ve known are insufferable know-it-alls who think themselves to be far more intelligent than warranted. I’m not saying they are all full blown idiots but I wonder if membership in that party and sub-average intelligence go hand-in-hand. If so, shouldn’t they simply be ignored?
