Nova Scotia. I think I see some familiar faces here...still preoccupied with Springsteen, life, the universe and everything. Feminism. Health both public and reproductive. Covid ain't over.

I think a mixed neighborhood would be so lovely. Chester right now seems to skew fairly old. When we moved here in 1997, there were 4 -5 kids on the block. Now there are none.

When our boy played hockey, one of his teammates lived in the condos, and he was the only kid in the more than 50 units in the complex.

Originally it was just 55+, now I think the youngest people in the complex are 65+

Our condo complex is a mix of two
storey, townhomes close to the golf course, with only a handful that are only one level.

And what the heck? How can this 2.99 for a can if salty cindensed soup be a sale price (i never buy these anymore)
Two cans of campbell's soup listed for 2.99 each. On the left is a can of tomato soup, the right is condensed cream if chicken.

I am being a normal adult and making up a grocery list using the flyers for a change.. Did pocket friends who still buy Quality Street, notice that Sobeys has it on for 15.99 this weekend? It is currently offered at 20 freaking 7 at our Foodland.

Totally this! There is such limited supply of any kind of housing here, the condos in the village of Chester are out of reach of a lot of our seniors in fully paid off houses.

Oh dear. I had missed this update :(

It was fun in a conquering Everest kind of way. I wore a yellow triangle caution thing around my waist, the brightest clothes, and changed at the office. Because it was downhill on the way there, I didn't need to shower before work. But that slog home!!

Because i would get to work a nervous wreck and would be exhausted by the time I got home. And I did not have a family I was responsible for at the time.

Chiming in late... I biked from Bayview to work, deep on Hollis Street in the early 90s when I was much younger, and there was way less traffic. It was scary as heck then, and a heck of a climb home. Im my memory i did it often, in reality the Mister reminded me I did it less than a dozen times.

I am in love with Iona Whishaw's Lane Winslow books. Post WW2 strong female lead interesting way of incorporating a contemporary perspective into historical events in a beautifully described British Columbia interior.

The hotel prices he keeps suggesting as a reasonable amount to avoid the travel are insane! (300$ for the Lord Neslon?)

Ooooh those "last time for
.." are harder than we think sometimes aren't they?

That is a lovely memory to have! (Our Mum was a super devoted Expos fan for the NL and a lifelong RedSox fan in the AL) yet I think she would have been happy to see this result.

The Mister has a dentistry related appointment for eatly on a Monday morning later in Octiber, he is opting to stay in a hotel rhe night before so he can walk to it, rather than braving the traffic.
