Maybe it’s changed, but we heard the same from locals before we went 10 years ago. And I get it. It’s way more chill and super fun by day, and you don’t get shut out of your own city by tourists.

But the complete dearth of evening, night, and late-nights shows was such a bummer.

So we had a wedding during FQF about 10 years ago. While the daytime was fun, the night sucked ass because so many acts (including local ones) had non-compete radius clauses with their Jazz Fest shows.

Frenchman Street was so dead, and think Howlin Wolf was booked with standup comedy.

If true, two at the Saenger leading into Jazz Fest 1st Weekend is sick sick sick.

But hitting NOLA for Goose & not staying for Fest is an absolute amateur move.

That makes it a 5-night trip just 3 weeks before Cabo which is probably a no-go.

Life is hard.

So far, it looks like I’m eating crow on the great Gyokeres vs Sesko debate of 2025.

Gyokeres hasn’t been elite, but 7 goals so far is a great return. Reminds me of Eduardo before his legged was snapped in just having a knack in the box. #Arsenal

I had to bail. Got sick after two weeks of travel and decided to be responsible (to myself and others) vs getting torqued enough to enjoy a show while sick in a butts-to-nuts Cervantes.

From the couch, it seemed solid but far from spectacular, but still a great night for those guys.

When X-Files was live, I was always let down during the standalone episode nights vs the ones connected to the ongoing story.

Tuned into some Gizz rave set for a bit. Allie wasn’t into it so I didn’t keep it on for long. But…

1) Super cool that they use Cavs vs electronic drums.

2) Especially appreciated how big and colorful it sounded vs a lot of their live recordings

Blue Jays: D+

Eggy: B. Could barely understand a word they sang in the Blucifer thing. However, it had some seriously cool music & improv. Good on those guys for what was a huge show for them.
