I am confused why so many of the comments are cracking jokes...is this just gallows humor? Or is this not something they can really enforce? Is this not the point where we start talking seriously about the possibility of claiming asylum in other countries?
Yeah and it was clearly positioned as speculation, as you noted--not some kind of sensationalist headline. She didn't indicate if it would happen. It's a fair speculation given everything and we need to be thinking about these scenarios in advance, not waiting until they happen and it's too late.
any perspectives on the statement from Dooley that they are tracking attestations and will revoke their passports later? presumably this list will be preserved forever, so every time a Republican is in office, they'll just use that list and revoke those passports immediately.
Thanks for the update Chris. Any thoughts on the recent motion to dissolve injunction, where they say they plan to track those who use the attestation form and revoke their passports if the PI is dissolved? Do they have legal standing to do this?
I don't see how her headline is marginally accurate. It's based on statements directly from the court filing, and she says that it applies only to people changing their passport under the court order.
They're processing in line with the preliminary injunction, they can't stop just because they're challenging the ruling --however, they are saying that if the injunction is stayed, they're going to cancel passports granted under it and send new passports with the wrong gender

IIRC her original ranking and ranking in the women's division were in the same ballpark, but people love to take her last ranking before she joined the women's division (after she had been on hormones for a while and her ranking had gone down) as evidence. Just blatant cherry picking and bad data

And take into account that only 1 in 10 drugs makes it go approval, so it's more like $7-$10B per drug, since it has to cover the costs for the 9 other failed drugs
