Today's Sunday daiquiri is with Mount gay, line juice, cold brew coffee syrup, and a touch of creme de banane

Also yesterday I made what I'm sure is not original, but I made what I'll call an "och-aye-tai" which is basically a mai tai with a 1/2 oz of peaty scotch, resulted in a nice smokey version
The Halloween house in ditmas park looks outstanding as always
Going to see Rush twice in NYC next year!!!
If only they'd kept their nuclear fleet and phased out coal rather than the other way around, they'd probably be a poster child of decarbonisation...
Of the 1100-plus shows I've gone to, it's a little known opinion that grizzly bear have arguably played top two I've ever seen (the roundhouse in London 2010 and radio city music hall in 2012), an impossible ask to best those in 2025 but they were still amazing again tonight at Brooklyn steel
Loved seeing Air play Moon Safari tonight at Brooklyn Paramount, but even better was the second set including some of my favourites from their Virgin Suicides score
Saw John Carpenter tonight at Knockdown center, great soundtracks and songs from his solo records. A real feel good show all round
This was completely unexpected and I am quite emotional about it!
Rush announced their first tour in over 11 years www.brooklynvegan.com/rush-announc...
Went to see Born Ruffians and Queen of Jeans last night at Music Hall of Williamsburg, very fun show!

Isn’t “stop the fascists” okay?
Stephen Miller: "They say they are trying to kill the fascists & stop the fascists. It's deliberate. President Trump is saying that we as a nation are not going to tolerate it anymore & the joint terrorism task force at the FBI is going to find these terrorists & we're going to put them behind bars"
Spectacular show by The Beaches tonight at Webster Hall, one of the best bands of the last few years (I'll forever be mad at myself that I didn't see them at Mercury Lounge...) #thebeaches
Pretty weird Ryan Adams show last night, got free tickets so decided to go with fairly low expectations. He played heartbreaker in full and went on some odd rants, not sure he's taken any accountability for his actions. He sang and played pretty well (without playing any of my favourites)

Decided to throw up an old audio recording of an interview I did with @delamitri.bsky.social singer (and greatest ever songwriter) Justin Currie from 2014

youtu.be/GuiGp0RqvfA?...
The transcript is probably a better experience to avoid my voice

Just going through some del amitri tags on blue sky ... Assume you know they reissued sosp on vinyl this year?
The site I originally conducted this for (Free Williamsburg) sadly called it a day in 2020 but I thought maybe fans will enjoy the unedited audio... I was really proud of this at the time and when Justin tweeted the link at the time he said it was "for hardcore fans only" lol #delamitri

Forgot to post about the superb Oso Oso show at le poisson rouge on Wednesday night
Supergrass last night at pier 17, celebrating the 30th anniversary of I Should Coco. Good Oxford boys, a great show!
There's no Rush in here...
Had the absolute pleasure of seeing Unwound tonight at Elsewhere, they performed their third album, The Future of What, to celebrate its 30th anniversary. One of the greatest bands of all time
Bounced up to Boston to see another Rilo Kiley show, very glad I did two shows and had a lovely weekend
No big deal, just a perfect Rilo Kiley show tonight
So glad I picked up a day-of ticket to see Nine Inch Nails, set included my favourites from the downward spiral as well!
