Disagree with the end of that!!!

But damn, seeing that poster makes me want to pop my dvds in!
Hmm, I wonder what the exchange rate is
That’s great!

I’m at…$46 lol. Time for a genre change from “commentary of poetry for teachers of Latin” 🤣

I hope these keep up for you!
I sat today looking through TNG and by the time I decided on Conundrum, I had to go halfway through.

The paralysis of choice!
I wish I had the ability to make playlists for TV shows on streaming services or have a "pick random episode of this TV show" button.

I need some Star Trek, but picking an episode takes like half the time I set aside for it!

Why isn't this just an option already?
We are definitely getting mileage out of “ellipsis” this year in class, that’s for sure.
Such a good show; I could use a rewatch too.
I’ll forever love that Denny’s named their festival of adding bacon to things the ‘Baconalia’.

Just amazing.
I was pacing my course out this summer after being initially excited at the reduced amt of Latin in the new syllabus.

Well after mapping it out (semester, block schedule), turns out it’s still too much Latin and I’ll be skipping almost all teacher choice.

Sigh.
My course starts in the spring and I’m glad the resources are coming out to help with lesson planning! Thanks so much!
I mean, after they saved the day, I’m guessing they could have come back with more dudes to free her by force (a pun!) or buy her.
Always love the usernames.

I can’t find that exact form in any dictionaries and I don’t remember my Greek well enough, but I’m guessing he’s still going for being a cool stoic. Or something about porches. Either way.
It’s my favorite story in Star Wars.
A bit young, but maybe in a few cycles.
I ordered author copies of my commentary to send to my parents as soon as it published. They haven't even been shipped yet.

But my coworker who bought it has it already?!

Come ooooooooon!
My wife works at a primary care office and was trying to report fraud today...but the government shut down means the place you report fraud to the FTC is down.

I know it isn't nearly the most important consequence of the shut down, but it's depressing that I keep finding out more of them.
Does the president have jurisdiction over Olympic stuff?

No, right?
Cracked.com produces better investigative journalists than journalism schools, it seems. Funnier ones too.

@danielobrien.bsky.social has been great at both venues.
The pacing and tone of the delivery definitely helped, lol. Was a great line.
Steadman had asked what he should do next & I suggested Martial, as he's my favorite author and I'd love to do more w/ my students. He suggested I do it myself, & I finally did.

Was more than 140 & I hope to do more later. I'd love to see more Martial commentaries so please tackle him yourself too!

Hi Bluesky! I post on Greco-Roman (late) antiquity, metal music, & especially combinations thereof. 🏺🎸

My 1st book, "Julian Augustus" is out 26 September. Preorder here: global.oup.com/academic/pro...

Lastly, I'm undertaking a challenge to cook a dish from every country in alphabetical order. 🌍🍴
“…if only for the simple reason that he doesn’t deserve it.”

Great opener.
I talk about the Punic wars with my students when we read some Eutropius. I’m curious as to how much weight you give Rome changing commanders every year in contributing to its success and failure, esp against a foe who did not change commanders.
Shit, I was wrong.

Turns out, it had nothing to do with wokeness.
