Mistake on my part due to a coloring error. That's not Johnny, despite the blonde hair. That's Reed.

Reed is wearing a bowtie at this event, while Johnny has some sort of button-thing going on.
Ugh!

First, I hate the "old friend" thing in comics. Second, Ben and Johnny are sooooooo not old friends.
She's only ever called Frankie, but I'm gonna guess this is Frankie Raye.
Without the white temples, Brett Booth's Reed looks like his Peter Parker. (Okay, technically that's Ben in the second image, from Backlash / Spider-Man #1, but the point remains.)
Surfer: Those dudes kinda saved me. So, how about not eating them?

Galactus: Nah.
Sue's sequence is not a flashback to an older issue, which is lame.

They could have easily used this sequence from Annual #6 (image 3) in which he was born. Granted, Franklin isn't yet named but that can be written around.

Also, since that involved The Negative Zone, it seems like a layup.
Flashbacks to Fantastic Four #300 (1961).
Going into the Heroes Reborn books, did we know these were the 616 characters shunted into another reality or were we meant to think they were different versions? I cannot recall.

Either way, I like the idea behind this.
This is from Fantastic Four vs The X-Men #1 and 2 (images 3-4).
Like, three pages prior Reed said Surfer used a wormhole through The Negative Zone to reach our solar system, so why is he shutting Johnny down when he points out there's a dude outside the ship?
"I call it... The Negative Zone." Reed ain't Doom when it comes to drama but he's not opposed to it.
Fantastic Four #7 (1996)

Gotta get that Wolverine in the 1990s money.
Bruce, we literally had this discussion in the 1940s and we saw how that went.
The look on Doom's face is never not funny.
Typically I ain't into beefy muscle dudes but I wouldn't say no.
HA HA HA! Of course Doom installed a "grovel program" into his bots.
Every hero save for Johnny is surfing on Reed's back.
Solid explanation of how the Power Cosmic is distilled from Galactus to Silver Surfer to Super Skrull.
Probably unintentional, but this proves Reed's point. They have all adapted to their powers too quickly, as if they are used to them.
