These sculptures were commissioned for the Chase Manhattan Bank plaza but were ultimately delivered to the Fondation after the project fell through. Many casts of the sculpture were made, with the Fondation Maeght acquiring a large group of plaster and bronze works around 1960. #AlbertoGiacometti

Day 2035 #ArtKicksCovid19 "L’Homme qui marche I" (1960) Alberto Giacometti. Fondation Maeght. Giacometti was born on this day in 1901. This life-sized bronze sculpture and a cast of it is permanently housed in the Giacometti Courtyard at the Fondation Maeght in Saint-Paul-de-Vence.
