The opening of the Kansas City Streetcar Main Street extension, complete with dedicated lanes, shows that when we make good investments in our transit systems, we can have amazing results!

Long term, no parking minimums should be utilized for any mode of transportation. In the immediate term though, using the tools which were utilized to induce ubiquitous car use for other modes isn’t a bad strategy.

He HAS to be violating multiple zoning and permitting laws to do this. Like no other government building in DC can just start work this quickly. Either the White House has some crazy exemption no one has utilized like this before or he’s doing his typical “who’s gonna stop me?” approach to the law 😡

Just want to remind everyone that most car trips in America are under 6 miles. While lacking public transit is an issue, the bigger problem is our atrocious zoning.

When people aren’t forced to drive themselves everywhere, it frees them to enjoy their trips. They can rest, they can scroll, they can read, they can do almost anything they want. But you don’t need Uber to achieve that freedom. Transit can do that for a fraction of the price.

While the game currently only has heavy and light metro mode options, they have plans to expand modal options and improve other gameplay mechanics the more people buy in (because this is currently just one person, so they need people to buy to expand the team)
