Bus replacement services from Yate and Bristol Parkway to Gloucester and Cheltenham will continue until Wednesday because re-signalling work in Gloucester is overrunning.

Safety testing of the new signalling system is taking longer than planned.

Horrified and appalled by the attack outside Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue on Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.

The date the M4 closure has changed because of delays in the production of the beams for the new Badminton Road bridge. The M4 will now close between the Bath junction and the M32 from 7pm Fri 24 October to 6am Mon 27 October.

I was delighted to be asked to officially open the new Citizens Advice office in Yate. The premises on Station Road are much more spacious and will help the volunteers do their important work.

The Nat West Bank in Yate closes today. When I met with management they made it clear they wouldn’t change their decision. It's an incredibly disappointing move which further isolates the vulnerable. The decision makes it crucial that the Post Office stays in Yate Shopping Centre.

Today, on #WorldAlzheimersDay, I met @alzheimerssoc.bsky.social at @libdems.org.uk Conference to discuss how we can fix the care puzzle and ensure those living with Alzheimer's get the care they need. It all starts with better training, fairer social care funding, and more specialist provision.

There's a drop in event for those affected by, or concerned about flooding issues from the railway mainline in Yate and Chipping Sodbury. The agencies involved be at Chipping Sodbury Town Hall on Mon 29 Sept from 4.30 - 7.30 to talk about work undertaken since last year’s floods.

Rail services to Gloucester or Cheltenham will be disrupted because of work at Gloucester signal box. Network Rail needs to replace 10,000 wires - over 12 miles worth.
There will be replacement buses for some services on 27 & 28 Sept, and also 4 & 5 Oct gwr.com/upgrade

MPs have just voted for a motion to scrap the two child benefit cap. The cap is cruel and pushes families into poverty - that's why I am proud to have voted for the motion and hope Labour Ministers will finally listen.
