If you like Blocker Mover but don't want to play a slow down grind game…

Adapt it like the pros do, as more of a quick hitting set
"Elbow Rips"

Dry technique, practicing getting low, aggressive, and wide rip moves

Coach determines a finishing move to work on
To top lock a shooter, you have to give a "one way go"

And that one way is to reject the screen

(this DID NOT happen in this clip)
“2 Ball Chase”

Defense works on hustling to back tap

Offense must recognize which ball got knocked away and quickly transition to attacking down hill
Pin screen the zone for a middle touch

Read the down screen...

The defending forward is stuck in a 2v1
6 ways to identify coaching graveyard jobs:

- Lack of top-down organization
- Too far gone school culture
- Underdeveloped youth program
- No community support
- Little admin support
- Absent fundraising initiatives
Touch action is everywhere in NCAA and Euroleague basketball now

That means it'll be making its way to high school ball soon
The “X” pattern mentioned above would look like this:
One more clip for another look at the concept
Interesting.

UNC working the zone by flashing the posts in and out of the middle in a circular pattern

More commonly you see posts flash and return in an “X” pattern
CIRCLE MOTION

Just when the defense thinks they know the sequence of the offense, blow their mind 🤯 with this sneaky elevator set
Stampede = running through the catch to attack the basket

Called a "DANILOVIC CUT" when used by design out of the corner
"Star Defense"

My go-to "Junk" defense

Versatile, rule based... Combining full denial defense with levels of sagging off other players
Travel or nah?

The sucker backdoor play - a favorite ATO of many coaches
Stagger Touch Spain

Spacing, movement, screening.... beautiful design
"2v1 Cardinal"

Fast moving, continuous drill. Two lines at half court, and drill begins with a 2v1

Points of precision:
-Hunt good shots
-Two foot finishes
-2v1 advantage offense
-1v2 disadvantage defense
-Defend from the basket out & stunt
-Active hands
Same action but "upside down" on a BLOB set up

"Stretch-Seal-Dive" requires timing, but the principles of the concept are rock solid

To defend it, a player form the zone must rotate out of their coverage area
Again, same concept, but coming from the weak side instead of up through the baseline

🏀 1 Stretches the defense to cover the corner
🏀 5 Seals across the lane
🏀 4 Dives into soft pocket of the zone
Same concept again, but run for a deep baseline catch

Quick, one step finishers are perfect for the deep baseline catch
Again, same concept from a stack alignment to shorten the action

A "Euro-4" is the perfect personnel for the middle catch... someone that can read the defense, pass, or make a short floater
"Stretch-Seal-Dive" 🧵

My favorite ZONE OFFENSE concept that no one else talks about

The design is to overload the baseline with coordinated cutting that leaves the defense "one player short"
Double Burn on the 5-Out Delay

Actions like this are what led me to switch from a 4-out transition system to 5-out
Using the "Chair" start to create a small advantage for 2v2

-Maintain advantage
-Read the help
-Transfer the advantage with an on time, on target pass
