If you’re a municipal politician, ban AI and data centres in your community ASAP. They create very few jobs but suck up water and electricity. They are not worth it.
It’s no surprise that weak, ineffectual Nanaimo Council supports them.

I first got TSSA clearance as a Corporal in the Regular CF (which is near the bottom of the military food chain), so every time I read about PP’s lack of clearance I am livid.
Clearance is based on need-to-know, and the LOO definitely needs to know.

Every riding is a different election and in many the LPC are not contenders. While the LPC might squeak out a majority, it’s just as possible the CPC would.
I’d rather not take the risk.

America is a dictatorship, and the likelihood of this regime leaving peacefully hovers around 0%.
I’m currently in Europe where most people have already written off the USA and moved on. Canada needs to do the same.

I hope we in Canada remove tariffs on China and sign big new trade deals with them. Yeh, they’re a brutal dictatorship but at least they’re not trying to destroy us like the Trump dictatorship is.

This episode makes one thing even more clear than it already was: negotiations with Trump are pointless, because he will change his position on everything on a whim, as he does on an hourly basis.

Currently in Europe. Great to see that nobody here talks about Trump or his regime. They ignore that fat fuckhead, which is what Canada needs to start doing.
We need to drop tariffs on China, buy fighter jets from Sweden, and tell America they can find their potash and electricity somewhere else.

I did govt comms in Ottawa for years. All the stuff you mention - long delays for a quote, trained seal Ministers, message control - has been supercharged since at least 2006.

Carney is just way better at messaging than the last 3 PMs and everyone else in Ottawa.

That’s the difference.

I’m not an NDP supporter but I do know Tanille pretty well. She is very smart, hardworking and savvy. She would have made a great MP, but the LPC candidate split the vote (in a riding that hasn’t gone LPC since 1960) and racist Trump and Putin fan Aaron Gunn slid right up the middle.
