I suppose as artists, we tend to have a better eye for such things. I have friends in creative, though non art fields (writing, music and such), and they also can't really tell when something is an AI generated image.

Making a likable villain is key. Weather that's a villain that's relatable, has likable traits, strong charisma, or maybe they are just fun to watch being mischievous. In my case, I gave mine a pudgy cat.
