first kiss

black and white comic of vash and wolfwood from trigun max, 3 pages. wolfwood’s hand clasps over vash’s, pulling him along as vash says, “wolfwood — wait! what’s with the rush?!” wolfwood bursts in through the door, sunglasses still on, a neutral expression while vash is behind him, looking exasperated and confused. emphasizing again, “hello?? wolfwood?!” once they’re in the room, wolfwood has let go of vash and moves to take off his sunglasses. vash covers the silence, explaining bit by bit, “look, if it’s about the villagers, i couldn’t leave the situation alone,” he turns to look at wolfwood, “i’m sorry i dragged you in again—“ before vash gets any further, a hand slams against the wall behind, surprising him and as he looks forward, wolfwood closes in, looking eye to eye.

vash’s expression turns nervous and he stutters out, “wolfwood..?” wolfwood looks indecisive, troubled and frowns a bit before he speaks up, turning nervous quickly through his words, “can… can i kiss you?” vash’s eyes widen, “what?” wolfwood maintains his disposition, “you don’t want to?” vash pauses for a moment, uncertainty clear as he says, “no, i—“ wolfwood takes it as a rejection quickly, steadily retreating with an “oh,” before vash quickly interjects, panicked (though still finding wolfwood’s reaction “cute”) and says, “i meant — i do, but… isn’t this way too sudden? why are you asking now…”

in lieu of an answer, wolfwood leans in, hand tugging the collar of vash’s down. vash notices the mere action alone, no answer to his question and presses gently, “hey… aren’t you going to tell me…” the question hangs in the air, remaining without answers. after a moment of their kiss, they break apart, wolfwood’s clammers to open vash’s jacket, undressing him while vash stutters through, “wolfwood… you… slow down a bit…” throughout it, wolfwood presses a kiss against vash’s cheek and down below his ear. vash faces a quiet dilemma to himself, thinking, “he isn’t listening to me at all (so eager)… then should i also… in the first place, it’s too sudden…” breaking through his thoughts is wolfwood’s voice, suddenly looking straight at him with a slight cheeky smile, “needle noggin’. don’t tell me you’ll hesitate here too. you do want this, right? so start actin’ like it already.” the uncertainty on vash’s face doesn’t go away, but he’s pulled in by wolfwood’s light taunt, the comic ending with an implication of what comes next.
