Don't think the drafters of the Constitution ever imagined today's immigration scenario. Seems reasonable what I said in 1/2 about how the UK handles this cuz otherwise people are incentivized to enter illegally and give birth. 2/2

True, and I'm usually with you. I'm US Citizen residing in UK. UK doesn't have birthright citizenship. The mother (or father) must be a UK citizen or have legal right to reside and work in UK, otherwise newborn is a citizen of mothers country. 1/2
