Part 3 of A Dowry of Blood has me thinking about how, despite being a vampire, Dracula still uses human tactics to control his brides. There is nothing new or creative in what he is doing.

This take on Dracula is refreshing in that he is a predator, not because he is a man, but because he is a man with immortality, time, and desires, which is dangerous in itself.

With the Prom story, I am understanding why Jennifer Thorne titled this book Diavola. Anna is the devil in her family, but not by her own doing, her family aims to mischaracterize her at every step... and Christopher is just an asshole.
