For a short time, Amorphophallus titanum generates heat & makes the most atrocious stink (that clings to hair & clothes). This plate from Barthlott et al. 2009 (Plant Biol. 11:499–505; doi.org/10.1111/j.14...) shows it in thermal imaging. The spadix heats up. #Araceae #Botany 🌾🧪🌱
