You'll want to get out and enjoy today, because as we head to the start of the week, we also have another round of rain on the way. Showers will be developing overnight across central North Dakota, and slide east through the day tomorrow. #ndwx #mnwx
Already a gusty start to your Sunday throughout the Valley, as winds are staying out of the south, and we have seen those winds get up to near 40 mph already. So hold on to your hat if you head out this afternoon, but temperatures will be nice, with highs in the 60s. #ndwx #mnwx
Get out and enjoy the corn mazes too, as it's the last weekend for some of those around the valley. Today will be a touch sunnier and less breezy, but either day this weekend will be a good pick to enjoy some mild fall weather before rain returns early in the week. #ndwx #mnwx
Still pondering when you'll get the chance to go out to pick your perfect pumpkin?🎃Today's going to be a pretty picture perfect day to do so, as the leaves will rustle around a bit on that south breeze, but highs top out near 60° for most of the region this afternoon. #ndwx #mnwx
A slight chill to start off your Sunday. Lows dipped to the 30s for much of the valley, but we have a calm and sunny day ahead. Get out and enjoy this seasonable afternoon, because then we are tracking in rain, cooler temps, and winds picking up to start the week. #ndwx #mnwx
It's a breezy day ahead across the valley, so expect leaves and corn stalks to rustle around a bit this afternoon. Morning sprinkles have struggled, so we just have cloudy skies early on, & this weekend will be a good one to get outside and enjoy some fall activities. #ndwx #mnwx
It's a bit faded now, but we had a rainbow this morning in Grand Forks! And that's the extent that the northern batch of showers brought today, but just across the SD border, we have a couple of showers that have a little thunder and a better chance for rain early on. #ndwx #mnwx
Before the rain, the wind today & dry conditions will be something to monitor for fire wx across NW MN. For the time being, it looks like we have enough moisture moving in to keep red flag warnings at bay, but if the moisture comes up short, fires may spread quickly. #ndwx #mnwx
Be ready for that breeze today! South winds pick up this afternoon and we look to remain mostly dry until after sunset. However overnight, we will keep an eye on rain moving through, and then a cool down after a windy Sunday with more showers. #ndwx #mnwx
Along with the rain, it will also be a blustery day with a cool-down to some seasonable temperatures. Winds will stay out of the west-northwest for much of the day, with some gusts to 45 mph, and temperatures will be dropping to the 50s by the afternoon. #ndwx #mnwx
A low pressure system sliding through the region brings in change today. To the northwest of the low, we will see steady rain for much of the morning as it pushes out towards the Canadian border, while showers will be spotty for the southern valley and lakes country. #ndwx #mnwx
This evening, winds turn to the north and we see a chance for rain moving through the region. Through the day Sunday, temperatures will tumble into the 50s for most by the afternoon. I'll be breaking down the timing all around the region this morning on First News from 7:00-8:30. #mnwx #ndwx
Record highs for some today, but then winds of change are set to blow. Highs top out in the upper 80s for some today before a cold front comes to shake up the forecast and bring seasonable temperatures to the region. #ndwx #mnwx
With no rain early this week, we are expecting these conditions to linger for a few days, but are not expecting the driest days to overlap with the breeziest days. That will help keep the fire risks minimal, but will still be something to monitor early on this week. #ndwx #mnwx
Dry conditions continue to the start of the week, which is great news for harvesting. However, with these dry conditions and a bit of a breeze, we are keeping an eye on an elevated risk for fire conditions across northern MN, with stronger wind than yesterday. #ndwx #mnwx
A cool start, but plenty of sunshine today. Grab that sweatshirt if you're heading to the homecoming tailgate, but you'll be able to shed it by the afternoon. We have dry conditions this weekend, but keep an eye on a bit of a breezier day tomorrow for your plans. #ndwx #mnwx
However, if you are out and about early this morning, we are seeing patchy dense fog across eastern parts of North Dakota, dropping visibility to under a mile. This should improve pretty quickly once we see the sunrise, but take things a little bit slower until then. #ndwx #mnwx
We are finally out of the damp stretch around the region, and now warmer weather is on the way. Temperatures get up to the 70s this afternoon, and this week looks to be a great one to get out and enjoy some fall festivities. #ndwx #mnwx
It's a damp start for a weekend with plenty of outdoor activities, we have fog, mist, and spotty showers this morning. Showers will weaken through the day, but we could still feel a few drops early Sunday morning. I'll have when we start to dry out on First News. #ndwx #mnwx
However, before we get to the afternoon, it's a rather foggy start. Visibility is under a mile for parts of southeast North Dakota. Fog will linger around for a little bit after the sun comes up, so take it slow this morning, and stay weather aware this afternoon. #ndwx #mnwx
Storms look to develop around 2-4 pm this afternoon, and continue until after sunset tonight. Storms will track nearly due north. While the main corridor of the risk remains across central ND, we still have a chance for stray severe storms further east in the valley. #ndwx #mnwx
T-storms return to the region today. A low pressure system approaches southern ND this afternoon, and all hazards of severe weather will be possible. The greatest risk for these storms will be in a corridor between Jamestown and Bismarck this afternoon. #ndwx #mnwx
We also are timing out a few rounds of rain this weekend. Today may see a stray shower in the valley, with best chances of rain being towards Devils Lake/Jamestown, and further west. Tomorrow has a higher chance for a few t-showers in the afternoon for the valley. #ndwx #mnwx
It's a mixed bag around the region right now, but the one constant is it's not feeling much like fall this weekend. We are tracking showers off to the west, dense fog to the east, and temps heading back to the 80s, with some high 80s & thunder by Sunday. #ndwx #mnwx
So far, Langdon and Hallock have dropped down to 32°, and we could still see a few more spots hit freezing right around sunrise. I'll have a full and updated list of the coldest temperatures today, and how warm we look to get coming up on First News. #ndwx #mnwx
