(I wrote it, so I'm a bit biased, but I genuinely love the idea of James Franklin at SMU)

it's possible that, after disappointing 2025 seasons, James Franklin and Dabo Swinney decide to leave their current schools. if they do, we'll have one of the most chaotic coaching carousels in recent memory

I mapped out what it could look like in this week's (free) newsletter
Why James Franklin and Dabo Swinney could lead to a chaotic coaching carousel
Penn State and Clemson's coaches may be looking for a fresh start elsewhere, moves that would alter the landscape of college football

wonder if Ezra Klein thinks this is yet another example of practicing politics the right way

this whole column is excellent, but this graf in particular is the best description I've ever read on the difference between college football and the NFL

I'm still holding out hope her inexplicable rise is going to convince her to run for Congress back in Pittsburgh and lose by 30 points. trying to imagine her holding court with a bunch of grizzled Yinzers in a VFW hall

no doubt. I don't know how many people with an ounce of self-awareness would wanna post that
craigmeyer.bsky.social
honestly hard to tell these days

reminds me of the dude who set up a Twitter account for his grandfather, who would type stuff in there and post mistakenly, believing that it was Google

maybe my favorite thing about this is that, based on my rough math, dude's teenage girlfriend was four years from being born when Significant Other came out

I'm excited for Limp Bizkit, but I'm a little worried about Antifa...
Question
I'm sick and tired of seeing these thugs terrorize big events and am worried that they will try to interrupt Limp Bizkit's set. My gf (F19) and I (M31) are going to our first Lollapalooza and are concerned about the growing threat around the city

so much of what we're seeing right now with ICE and the National Guard was made possible by a concerted, decades-long effort to paint any place with more than 200,000 residents as a lawless hellhole. and the willingness of millions of people to believe that poisonous nonsense

oh this was 1000% destined to happen. I love the 'hey, let's get someone who appeals to a large audience' argument. he's arguably the most famous musician in the world! and, by all accounts, a cool guy

if these people wanna watch Kid Rock perform Bawitdaba so badly, just pull it up on YouTube

everyone I've ever met from Louisiana, even if I probably disagree with them on a lot, has been pretty cool, so I've gotta imagine that dude grew up getting shoved into locker after locker
craigmeyer.bsky.social
no doubt. I grew up in Louisville, so I always thought the "midwestern vs southern" debate was kinda convoluted. then I moved to Pittsburgh, where there are like 20 different possible classifications for it
craigmeyer.bsky.social
there aren't many people for me who have gone from "I have no idea who you are" to "I detest you on a molecular level" quicker than him. just a smarmy, spineless MFer

it's a tired argument, but Appalachia's generally the right designation for it (I'd say Rust Belt, but that's not geographic)

it's a controversial opinion to some, but having lived in the northeast and spent a lot of time in the midwest, Pittsburgh is WAY more midwestern than northeastern
craigmeyer.bsky.social
got a chuckle out of this. even on a map as specific and accurate as this, Pittsburgh doesn't fall neatly into a single region lol

"sir, there's a second dog construction show. it's called Pupstruction. it's basically the same thing as Rubble & Crew, but worse"
craigmeyer.bsky.social
having a toddler has taught me there are not one, but two shows about dog construction crews

I think something we have to do more of is talk about how kickass a lot of American cities are because right now some people think they’re run by Sharia Law nudists and most of us never thought to counter that argument because it’s stupid and doesn’t make any sense

absolutely love the Metro. tagged along with my wife to DC in March when she had a conference there and my train-obsessed two-year-old and I spent half our time just riding around the Metro to different parts of the city

if I were Jared Polis, I'd use whatever executive power I have to excommunicate Megan W, Kacie and Mike from the state. send them to Utah or some shit
craigmeyer.bsky.social
been catching some of the Colorado season of Love is Blind while my wife watches it and I've gotta say: Denver, we're not sending our best

thank you for including the Cincinnati suburbs in northern Kentucky as part of the Midwest. they can try to act southern all they want, but they ain't fooling anyone

I get there's a lot to be made in streaming, and he's obviously done quite well for himself, but you didn't give it a go trying to get a scholarship as a wideout or DB?

everything I've seen about this iShowSpeed guy's 40 time and vertical leads me to believe he sucks at sports
